Trump turns down Mein Kampf

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA—Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, has turned down the opportunity to narrate the audiobook version of Adolf Hitler’s controversial autobiography, Mein Kampf.

The latest version of the book, published by Munich’s Institute for Contemporary History, has been a bestseller in Germany since its reprint back in February.

The Institute expressed disappointment with the decision. Its spokesman, Helmut Hoffman, summed it up – “We needed a voice to bring it to life, so we sent him a CD of popular Bavarian marching music, a pair of lederhosen and some neatly ironed brown shirts to get him in the mood.”

A Trump campaign insider admitted that the candidate was flattered by the offer but turned it down due to scheduling difficulties and the tightness of the lederhosen.

Hoffman was hopeful – “He would’ve been perfect for the role, especially after Herr Gibson wasn't returning our calls. We’re hopeful Herr Trump will have a change of heart post-November.”
